The summer of 2018 has been a memorable season. So many things have changed. It has been a brutal and excruciating battle to get to where I am in my life right now. I am not about to share all of my triumphs and pitfalls but this post represents a lifelong dream fulfilled.
Since I was little, I have dreamed of travelling. Eating fresh pasta in Italy, devouring milky chocolate in Switzerland, sinking into the sand on the coast of California. It has been one of my hearts many desires to explore the restless city of New York, traipse across Athens and smell the clear blue waters of Greece. I was able to conquer one of these kinds of journeys, not mentioned above.
"Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it."
L.M. Montgomery
That is a quote I have grown fond of recently. Spoken by Anne Shirley in Anne of Green Gables, I was able to step into her shoes this summer and stroll along the red sand of Prince Edward Island. It was an experience that is hard for me to describe. The air, the water, the smell, the sand, the feeling; breathtaking. I thank God for the gift of this experience, as He is the only one who can be given credit. It was the happiest trip I have experienced yet. I am grateful to be young. I understand that there is so much to be seen in this world and I pray that God continues to present wonderful opportunities like the one He brought to me this summer.
With all of this in mind, I'll go into a little more detail about the trip. After making it over the Confederation Bridge, I stopped in Borden-Carleton for a lobster roll at Gateway Lobster Shop. By far, the most delicious I have ever tasted. From there, it was about an hour drive up to Cavendish (north PEI). The scenery along the way was both breathtaking and unexpected. So many rolling hills and trees. Not exactly what I had pictured when thinking about an island. When you look at all of the oceanside photographs below, you are looking at Cavendish beach. One of the most beautiful, salt water beaches in PEI with the clearest water.

Charlottetown - which was about another hour east from Cavendish - is an upbeat, exciting city. There I enjoyed an amazing dinner full of seafood by the water at Lobster on the Wharf. Creamy Lobster Bisque paired with a refreshing "Lobsterita" daiquiri to start. Main course of fresh PEI Mussels in a white wine sauce, grilled lobster tail and shrimp skewers accompanied by a chili cocktail sauce. A friend of mine ordered a two pound Lobster dinner because how can you visit Prince Edward Island and not order Lobster? Only the freshest seafood right from the Island.

The whole trip involved a lot of seafood and spectacular views. This is just a glimpse of Prince Edward Island. I highly recommend visiting this beautiful province. It was a trip that will stay close to my heart because of the peace it brought me. A trip that will never be forgotten.
