A little nonsense now and then, is relished by the wisest men.

Hi, I’m Kathleen.
Artist + creator
I’m a Canadian artist, photographer and creator. Art is therapeutic for me. Creativity is something that has to be a part of my every day life. I’m lucky enough to have the platforms and resources to always be creating, whether it be through work or in my spare time. Having the ability to express my thoughts and emotions through art is something I’m very grateful for.

Creating something meaningful
Getting started always means connecting with the client to discover what kind of meaningful piece they’re looking for. Whether that be a custom creation or an existing piece of art found on my social media. My art typically has a very whimsical and soft feel to it, bringing in elements of nature and muted colour tones. The beauty of choosing a custom piece of art is the ability to incorporate all of these details or picking and choosing so that it is truly customized to you.
The journey of an artist through water, paint pans and a brush.
Art class was always my favourite subject in grade school. I’ve paid attention to finer details from a very young age. This way of thinking gave me the ability to go further in many art mediums as I got older.
I started exploring the watercolour medium while I was in high school. I loved being able to duplicate the flowing of water and paint like I saw other artists create. The light wash and translucency of colours on paper has always been attractive to me. My first watercolour piece was a floral pattern of pale magnolias on a large canvas. I thought it was the most spectacular thing I had ever created but if I’m being honest, I would probably be embarrassed to let anyone see it today.
After high school, I fell away from creating physical art for a little while. I dabbled in photography and other creative art forms but those things always just stayed hobbies for me.
In the spring of 2016, I sat at my desk once again, and picked up an old paint brush and some very cheap watercolour paints. I began exploring the medium and fell in love all over again. I sat down and painted something almost every day for 6 months straight. Being able to put the things on paper that I envisioned in my head was a wonderful feeling. It became a stress reliever and a therapeutic activity for me.
Expanding, growing, evolving into different mediums
Variety is what I enjoy about being an artist
There is something to be said about creating art that you can touch and feel. Physically creating something, step by step with a paint brush or a pen is something beautifully traditional. Being a creator, I constantly have an itch to explore different fields of art. Sketching and painting is my foundation medium and something that started my journey as an artist. Expanding into digital art was something I picked up later on and it helped perfect some of my techniques with the traditional art I was creating.
